Description
In this studio workshop, we practice studying color in the landscape. Maybe you’ve heard this before, “Value does all the work while color gets all the credit.” So true! Yes, we will study color, but to do so, we HAVE to first put the values (the lightness or darkness of a color) to work. Thumbnails are your friend and we will use them a lot. Once we’ve worked through our grayscale thumbnails, we start working in color by asking questions. What type of palette will work for the painting? Should the painting be saturated or gray? Warm or cool? Students will work through many color studies to practice studying color.
Kim will offer individual attention at the easel during the workshop. At the end of the workshop, there will be a group discussion of the work completed during the workshop.
