The main facility for the Art Guild of Louisiana is the Studio in the Park. This BREC building is located in Cedarcrest Park in Baton Rouge.

Calvin Liang
We are honored and excited to announce that Master artist Calvin Liang is the juror/judge for the 55th River Road Show, a national art competition sponsored by AGL
at the Louisiana State Archives, August through September 2025.
Born in Canton, China, Calvin began painting in high school and completed his education at Shanghai Academy of Fine Art; recognized as one of the most prestigious and competitive art academies. Currently a resident of Corona, CA, Calvin decided in 2001 to leave his animation career at Disney Studios to become a full-time fine artist. In addition to winning many prestigious awards since, he is a Master member of the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society. Calvin also holds signature membership in California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and the American Society of Marine Artists.

Skill level: Intermediate to Advanced
Limited to 13 participants.
Lunch is provided on first day.
In conjunction with the River Road show Calvin will be teaching a three-day workshop in the Studio in the Park, 2490 Silverest Avenue, Baton Rouge. The time will be spent working on a single studio painting based on photos you have taken on location. Calvin will begin with a slideshow to show how he uses the photo as a reference for the painting. Then he will paint a demonstration and spend the remaining time with each student throughout the rest of the each day.
