Member Benefits

The Art Guild of Louisiana is a member driven organization. We strive to provide services that are of value to our members and other artists; exhibit opportunities for new/emerging artists as well as more accomplished artists, networking with other artists to help build confidence and quality workshops for artistic development. AGL also provides excellent volunteer opportunities for members who want to be actively involved in supporting the arts in our community on a grass roots level. In addition to all the health benefits of being creative, being a member of the Art Guild of Louisiana offers its members a number of benefits supporting their development as an artist:

  • discounted fees for workshops
  • use of well lighted and equipped open studio space
  • member only exhibits in public spaces
  • bi-monthly newsletter
  • discounted art supplies at a local art store
  • art reference library
  • professional quality photography of members’ artwork
  • online personal artist gallery on the guild website
  • member emails announcing AGL exhibits/events
  • networking with other artists

If you are not an “artist” and painting/drawing is not your thing … If you just love art and have a passion for supporting local art and artists who contribute to the artistic enrichment of our community, we welcome your membership as an art supporter/volunteer. Or, perhaps you know a budding artist, 18 or older, or a friend who wants to start a second or third “life chapter” in art, whose artistic endeavor you would like to encourage; at only $45 a year, a membership in the guild makes a wonderful gift.

Come paint and exhibit with the Art Guild of Louisiana! Hope to see you around!

Meetings

Board meetings are held the third Thursday of every other month at the Studio in the Park, 2490 Silverest Ave., from 11:30am – 1:30pm. Board Meetings are open to all members.

Membership meetings are periodical and are announced by email and in the newsletter.

Member Participation

The Art Guild of Louisiana is an all-volunteer organization and depends on its members to be actively involved in volunteer opportunities. We encourage you to participate on committees, assist with hanging exhibits, and other operational activities that make the Art Guild of Louisiana the kind of quality organization that YOU want to belong to. Please indicate on the membership form all areas you would be interested in volunteering. The Guild has continuously provided opportunities for artistic development in Baton Rouge since 1953, because of volunteers like YOU.

We welcome your participation and encourage you to become actively involved in the Guild and have fun at the same time. Visit the Volunteer page for more information about how easy it is to make a difference.
